1. We consult patients suffering from drug addiction and alcoholism.2. We consult patiens with addictions who are also infected with HIV, AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis C and other somatic and psychiatric problems. We direct them to the appropriate treatment facilities for medical care.3. Patients with drug addiction are introduced to modern recovery and rehabilitation programs.4. We motivate patients to seek treatment and rehabilitation.5. We assess patients' physical and neurological condition, sending them for inpatient treatment, detoxification, and methadone programs. We direct patiens to drug rehabilitation centers, short-term intensive education - therapy programs: eg., "The Minnesota program".6. Psychologist and social worker works with each individual patient in addiction recovery and rehabilitation program.7. We advicate the AA and AN movements, motivating people with addictions to seek to join such self-help groups.8. We advise patients' relatives, providing them with the necessary psychotherapy. Motivate them to join ALANON and ALATEN (mutual-help groups for relatives of people with addictions) movement.9. After rehabilitation we practice further support to sobriety maintenance, motivating further recovery, providing supportive psychotherapy.10. We perform timely crisis interventions.11. We stay in contact with drug treatment agencies sharing information about drug addiction issues and the drug users.12. We liaise with other agencies providing medical andsocial assistance to people with addictions.
