An eating disorder is an illness that can take the form of eating very small, insufficient amounts of food to severely overeating. Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge-eating. Excessive concern with body shape and weight can be signs that someone has an eating disorder. Eating disorders are dangerous to your overall health and can lead to ailments, including thinning of the bones, damage to the structural function of the heart, multi organ failure and infertility. Eating disorders may be challenging to overcome but can be effectively treated with the right medical help. http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/eating-disorders/index.shtml
