1930: Despite the dire warnings of the legend of Suicide Cap, 15 year old Sean O'Mara and his father embark on a hunting trip to the towering  mountain in search of the huge bear said to roam there. The trip soon goes horribly wrong during the worst winter in memory. Will  Sean and his father become just two more faceless names in the legend, joining those lost to the mountain in the past?

1989:  Unknown to anyone, Harry Crocket sets off from his Pennsylvania farm on an unplanned and unannounced maiden test flight of his experimental Hover Plane, flying on a whim to the North while his family is away shopping.  No one suspected Harrys' home built aircraft would ever actually fly, but when his family returns home they find that Harry and his Hoverplane are gone and they have no idea where Harry might have gone, and the sky leaves no tracks to follow. Harrys flight sets off a chain of events and tragedies that change his life, and the lives of others, forever.
The hamlet of Back Flats Pa is abuzz with the news of an up close encounter with a UFO by two old local farmers, turning the Fred Baker farm into a beehive of activity as a massive search begins in the shadow of Suicide Cap. Has Harry seen God ? Who was the strange old man, was he real or imagined?
