Tomorrow marks one year that not only a coach of mine, but a mentor and friend took his own life. It was the first time that I've lost someone to suicide that was that close with me. I never thought that it would bother me like it did. I found myself asking, "could I have done something", "why didn't he reach out" among many other questions. He was a very prideful guy, so I can understand why he may not want to reach out and feel vulnerable. But taking a hit to your pride is much better than taking your own life. It effects countless others around you. I you ever feel suicidal or depressed, please reach out, your true friends will be there to  pick you up when you need it most.
