Social Media's Influence On Body Image

Social Media plays a big role in all of our lives. Almost everyone has a Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter nowadays. Along with social media, comes with many big issues. One of those issues is cyberbullying, which I discussed in a previous blog. Another issue is body image. I know that many go on these apps, see the perfect models and pretty people and wish they were just like them. I personally struggle a lot with confidence in myself and the way I look. I don't like going on my social media and seeing the "Perfect Body" and feeling like I have to look like that. I think it's important for everyone to know it is ok to look different, because that's what makes you unique. You don't need to look like these models. What's important is that you are happy, and although it may take some time to get there, you will. I still struggle in feeling confident in myself. However, it makes me feel better when I stay off social media and realize just how great I already am. If you just remember that you are already beautiful the way you are, you don't need to compare yourself to anyone. You are enough.
